A rule of life is a personal framework or intentional set of commitments that guide how you live, work, and relate to others and to God. Think of it as a life operating system — not a rigid schedule, but a flexible structure that helps align your time, energy, and priorities with what matters most.
Spiritual
- Sabbath - From Saturday evening to Sunday evening, we take time to rest. We sit in God’s bounty.
- Lectio 365 - I’ve enjoyed this app. It prompts you to red the scripture morning, noon, and evening. You can read it and you can
- Keeping a prayer journal - As I talk to people, they share their life with me. I wanted a way that I could remember to pray for them but also to be intentional about praying for my needs.
- Community Group - I have a group of friends where we intentionally meet, we share a meal together, pray for each other, and discuss God’s word.
- Church - I’m a member of a church that gives me space to corporately worship the Lord on Sunday and grow in teaching and fellowship.
Intellectual
- Reading physical books - I like being able to think. I feel like I’m able to think better when I’m reading long form thoughts.
Mental Health
- Therapy twice a month - It’s been great to meet with someone on a regular basis to get some outside perspective of whats happening.
- Journaling everyday - This habit has surprised me. I’m using the Apple Journal app. I just jot down some notes in the morning about whats inside of my head. It’s stuck.
- Practicing Regulation - Breathing
Physical Health
- Riding the peloton 3 times a week — I feel so much better when I’m riding consistently.
- Lifting weights 2 a week — This is newer for me.
- Walk the dog every morning — I love this time. I pray, I listen to an audiobook, or listen to a podcast. It gets me outside. It gets me moving.
