Health
- Maintain running and biking — Running outside and biking on my Peloton has become vital to my mental and physical health.
- Bike more outside — Last Christmas, I got an excellent road bike, but I don’t use it as much as I want.
- Strength train — I have the cardiovascular power from biking and running. I’d love to do more strength training to get more muscular power.
Hobbies
- Make more pizza — We started making pizza at home in 2024, and it’s become one of my favorite parts of the week. It’s not just passable pizza; it’s delicious. I prefer my home pizza over Domino’s. I’d love to get better at pizza making.
- Roast more coffee — Lauren got me a coffee roaster for Christmas. It’s been a fun and cheaper way of enjoying great coffee. I’m excited about it as a way of blessing my friends.
Mind
- Read more books — With our ever-shortening attention spans, I want to read more long-form books. And not just audiobooks but actual book books. My mom got me a Kindle for Christmas.
- Resume my weekly e-mail newsletter — I have thoughts. I want to have a voice. I want to restart my e-mail newsletter Espresso on Substack.
Spiritual Life
- Maintain Sabbath — It’s become a sacred time in our family to take a day off and rest. We go to church, and we do something fun as a family. There’ll usually be some kind of sweet treat. Six days a week, we participate in the hustle of life. Sabbath is about resting and enjoying how richly God has blessed us.
- Read the Bible regularly with others — 2024 has gotten me cracking my Bible more frequently. In 2025, I’d love to do it even more regularly and do it with others.
- Practice silence/solitude — I’ve been enjoying some silent moments first thing in the morning when no one is around.
